Available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to the popularity of these rentals, we are unable to guarantee availability, and this equipment cannot be reserved in advance. Most restrooms at the Zoo are wheelchair accessible.

Sensory-Inclusive Experiences
The Zoo is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all of our guests, including those with sensory needs. The Zoo has earned Sensory Inclusive™ certification through a partnership with KultureCity, a nationally recognized nonprofit that provides sensory inclusion training and tools to venues and large-scale events.
Services
Adult-sized changing tables are available for use in the First Aid Station near the Conservation Carousel.
Assisted listening devices are available upon request at the Sea Lion Arena, the 4D theater, and the VR experience, free of charge.
Audio descriptive services for select areas of the Zoo are available upon request with advanced registration. For more information and to check availability, please email Hannah Phillips at phillips@stlzoo.org with your group size and composition and potential dates and times.
Equal Access Passes are intended to provide an inclusive Zoo experience to guests of all abilities. Passes are offered to guests requiring accommodations to access attractions, and those guests can forgo a continuous wait in line. Passes also are available to paid aides of individuals who require support to access Zoo attractions.
Valid attractions are the Zooline Railroad, Stingrays at Caribbean Cove, 4D Theater, and the indoor building to Penguin & Puffin Coast.
The free passes may be obtained at the Guest Relations Booth at Lakeside Crossing as well as at Rentals and the Welcome Desks at both Zoo entrances.
Family restrooms are located in The Living World building, at the South Entrance, First Aid Station and across from River Camp Cafe.

Designated accessible parking spaces are located in the Zoo’s North Lot and South Lot and on Government Drive. Parking on the street is free. The spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Conservation Carousel is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible. Two chariots on the carousel can accommodate wheelchairs.
The Zooline Railroad is ADA accessible. Passengers in wheelchairs have a large area on the train car, with fold-down seats for companions. The Zoo has also added ramps with lower slopes.
Service animals are permitted, except in the Cypress Swamp (1904 Flight Cage) and Bird House. Service dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities are welcome at the Zoo. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and are not permitted inside the Zoo.

All major facilities are wheelchair accessible, as are most restrooms. A map of the Zoo, including ramps, accessible entrances and grades of pathways, is available as you enter the Zoo.
Kulture City Social Story was designed with the intent of helping caregivers of individuals with autism and other special needs to prepare for their visit to the Zoo, but can be utilized by anyone.
Equal Access Passes are intended to accommodate guests with disabilities who require alternative access to an attraction that does not include a continuous wait in line. The pass is also available to the paid aides of individuals with disabilities who require support to access Zoo paid attractions. Valid attractions include the Zooline Railroad, Stingrays at Caribbean Cove and 4D Theater. The free passes may be obtained at the Guest Relations Booth at Lakeside Crossing, the Rentals Desks at both Zoo entrances and the Welcome Desk at both Zoo entrances.
Lockers are available at both entrances of the Zoo for your convenience.
All prices include a $5 returnable deposit. Key must be returned same day
for deposit return.
- Jumbo lockers are 23 inches tall, 16 inches wide and 29 inches deep. They are available at North Rentals for $10.
- Tall lockers are 36 inches tall, 9 inches wide and 17 inches deep. They are available at South Rentals for $9
- Standard lockers are 17 inches tall, 9 inches wide and 17 inches deep. They are available at South Rentals for $8.
