Classroom and Scout Troop Adoptions
Some of the best Zoo Parents are classrooms and Scout troops. In addition to learning about animals, children also learn the benefits of giving, since every dollar raised goes directly to the care and feeding of Zoo animals. For more information on adoptions for your organization, call the Zoo Membership office at (314) 646-4771, option 2, or toll free at (800) 966-8877.

Virtual Experiences
All virtual experiences are conducted by trained education staff who work closely with the animal care team. Your virtual experience can be tailored to the animal you adopt.
Adoption Introduction
The adoption introduction includes a 5-minute prerecorded educational overview about the adopted animal. The narrator will explore native environment, common characteristics, diet and species status in the wild. The animal's location within the Zoo, as well as behaviors specific to chosen animal in our care may also be covered.
Virtual Field Trips
Virtual field trips will be available to groups that raise $400 or more to adopt an animal. A representative of the Zoo will work with you to coordinate a meaningful and educational virtual program via a unique Zoom link. Some of the outreach topics include ecology, adaptations and animal classification. Donations at the $400 level include a 20-minute interactive program and customized photo of your class or group with an image of the adopted animal.
The adoption introduction and virtual field trip programs are conducted year-round and require eight weeks' notice to schedule. Specific dates and times subject to availability. When you adopt an animal at one of these levels, information on how to schedule your program will be included with a letter in your adoption package.
Donations of $800+
Donations of $800 or more include a 45-minutes interactive program, include the photo described above, and Adoption Recognition in an upcoming issue of the Zoo Parent Program Digest, the biannual publication of the Zoo Parents Program.
