See Like Me: A Day at the Zoo for the Blind and Visually Impaired

The See Like Me Resource Fair and scavenger hunt are open to all Zoo guests; no registration is required to participate.
Guests who are blind or visually impaired may register for private keeper activations and behind-the-scenes animal experiences.
A registered guest may also include an aide, support person or family companion as part of their registration.
Schedule of Events:
10 a.m.
- Registration opens
- Resource Fair located at the lower level of The Living World and Schnuck Family Plaza
10:45 a.m.
- Opening remarks in the lower level of The Living World
- Guests proceed to their registered activities
11:30 a.m.
- Private giraffe feeding in Red Rocks or private flamingo feeding in Historic Hill
12:30 p.m.
- Private Penguin & Puffin Coast experience
1 p.m.
- Raffle drawing in The Living World - must be present to win
1:30 p.m.
- Private stingray experience
2 p.m.
- Event concludes

Registration for the private experiences will be available through the Sight Collective website.

Planning to attend with a group of 15 or more?
Please do not complete an individual registration for each member of your group. Instead, have your school, organization or group’s primary contact email DEAI@stlzoo.org with the organization name, primary contact information and anticipated number of attendees so our team can coordinate your visit directly.
Important information about the animal experiences:
Service animals are welcome at See Like Me; however, for animal safety and welfare, service dogs cannot accompany guests into the giraffe feeding or flamingo feeding areas. Both giraffes and flamingos may react to the presence of dogs. Guests accompanied by service dogs are still welcome to participate in the other See Like Me activities and experiences.

For the flamingo experience, Destination Discovery keepers will be available to meet individually with guests who cannot enter the feeding area with their service dogs. Guests will still have opportunities to speak directly with a keeper, learn about the flamingos and ask questions.
