Join the Saint Louis Zoo and St. Louis Children’s Hospital for the 39th annual Make Tracks Through the Zoo on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Participants will run through Forest Park and the world-class Saint Louis Zoo.
Updated course maps and additional information about parking and race day will become available closer to the event date.
All participants will receive a T-shirt and participant prize along with a disposable timing chip for more accurate results.

5k event will begin at 7:00 a.m. and 1-mile event will begin at 8:40 a.m. More details to come!
Make Tracks Through the Zoo will be held rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, race start times may be delayed. We recommend that participants be in the area of the starting line ready to run by the scheduled start time. Decisions regarding the start of the race will be communicated to all participants. (Updates to social media and the website may be delayed.)
- Note: No dogs, Rollerblades, bikes, skates or skateboards permitted on courses.
- Strollers are welcome in our 5K and 1-mile races.

Virtual Run
Want to support the Zoo from afar?
Sign up to be a virtual runner! A virtual race is a race in which you can run (or walk) from any location you choose. You can run, jog or walk on the road, trail, treadmill, track, at the gym — even at another race! Simply select "virtual runner" during the registration process.
You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Your registration fee will still support the Saint Louis Zoo!
If you select and pay to have your packet mailed, it will be shipped the week of the on-site race. Otherwise, you will need to get your packet at packet pick-up on Thursday or Friday, May 16 or 17th at one of the Big River Running locations in advance of race day.
