On the road conservation

In the United States, the highway and road system is important to all of us. But road construction and the increase of cars and time spent driving has taken a toll on our wildlife and natural landscapes. You can help stop this by following a few simple rules.

Palm oil and orangutans

Orangutans are in trouble in the wild. Their forest homes are being destroyed to make way for palm oil plantations. Palm oil plantations are responsible for the clearing of hundreds of thousands of acres of orangutan habitat.

Almost everyone uses plastic bags, but anyone can make the choice to switch to reusable bags instead. #byetobags reminds us that individuals are the forces of change. As of December 2018, 9,115 Saint Louis Zoo visitors have pledged to make the switch to reusable bags.
