  5. Artificial Rockwork

Tarlton Corporation, Construction Manager as Agent, for the Saint Louis Zoo, invites you to submit a bid proposal on the Destination Discovery project for the Saint Louis Zoo. The project includes a 10,255 SF “Discovery Center” and a 3,391 SF “Ambassador Animal” building to house Exhibit, Activity, Education, and Animal event space. The project also includes an addition on the Animals and Us building, several animal care buildings, outdoor living exhibit spaces, an elevated boardwalk, café, Splashpad, and climbing structure.

Invitation to Bidders

When feasible and appropriate, the Saint Louis Zoo will post listings of bid opportunities on this Vendor Opportunities page. Procurement has two areas of bid opportunities:

General — includes goods and services for the day-to-day operation
Facilities — includes improvements to the Zoo's physical grounds

Bid Policies

The Saint Louis Zoo enjoys the support of the community through the Metropolitan Zoological Park & Museum District. For this reason, the Zoo makes every effort to return that support by contracting with qualified businesses within the District (comprised of St. Louis and St. Louis County) whenever possible.

Request for Qualifications

In accordance with Missouri Law (RSMo Section 8.285 to 8.291), regarding procurement of professional design services within the realm of architecture, engineering, and land surveying, the Zoo will encourage firms to engage in the lawful practice of their professions to annually submit a statement of qualifications and performance data to the Zoo following a formal Request for Qualifications (RFQ) by the Director of Procurement.
