American Burying Beetle Recovery Effort

In November 2005, a group of concerned specialists and stakeholders gathered at the Saint Louis Zoo to discuss efforts promoting the recovery of the American burying beetle Nicrophorus americanus. This goal-oriented workshop produced a prioritized report of efforts pertaining to this endangered beetle. One goal was the production of this webpage in an effort to collate pertinent information regarding the recovery of N. americanus, to serve as a central location to report efforts and recent information.

AZA Approved! The Association of Zoos & Aquariums announced their top ten wildlife success stories of 2006 and we were number two!
