Q:

How long is my membership active?

A:

Your Zoo membership will be valid for one year from the month of purchase. For example, if you join June 15, 2010, your membership expires June 30, 2011.


Q: Who can I contact with questions about my membership?
A:
Call the Zoo Friends office, (314) 646-4771, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. If we don't answer, leave a message, and we'll get back to you soon!

Q:

How long after I purchase a Zoo membership will I receive my membership card?

A:

Your membership card should arrive 7 to 10 business days after you join.


Q:

If I join online, can I use my benefits when I visit the Zoo today?

A:

Yes! If you have plans to visit the Zoo and wish to use your member benefits, simply join online. After your transaction is complete, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Please print the e-mail confirmation and bring it with you to the Zoo.

If you wish to use your benefits immediately, please pay by credit card. Online orders paid by check are placed on hold for 10 business days.


Q:

If I visit the Zoo and join on-site, will I get reimbursed for parking?

A:

No. Free parking is a member benefit. If at the time you first entered the Zoo parking lot you are not a member, we will not reimburse for parking fees. However, once you receive your membership card, just show the card to a parking attendant to get free parking for future visits. The number of parking passes varies according to your membership level.


Q:

What are Anywhere Passes?

A:

Anywhere Passes can be used in any combination for the Zooline Railroad, Sea Lion Show, Children's Zoo


Q:

What is the difference between Anywhere Passes and Anywhere Plus Passes?

A:

Anywhere Plus Passes are only available to members at the Family level and above. These passes are good for everything covered by the Anywhere Passes, in addition to rides on the Conservation Carousel.


Q:

Can I renew my membership online?

A:

Yes! Check the renew box from our online membership form.


Q:

How do I find out the number of Anywhere Passes and parking passes I have left?

A:

Just call the Membership Office at (314) 646-4771. Someone will be happy to tell you the number of tickets remaining in your Zoo Friends account. Membership Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.


Q:

What should I do if I've lost my membership card?

A:

We encourage members to replace lost or stolen cards as soon as possible. There is a $5 fee for a new card. To order another card, call (314) 646-4771.


Q:

Does my employer offer a matching gift program?

A:

Check with your Human Resources Department to determine if your company offers a matching gift program.


Q:

Can I lend my membership card to a friend?

A:

No. Memberships are nontransferable and are intended for use by individual households only.


Q:

Why do I have to show a photo ID when I use my card?

A:

We request a photo ID to help protect members whose cards might be lost or stolen.


Q:

Is a Saint Louis Zoo membership good at other zoos?

A:

Yes! The Saint Louis Zoo has a reciprocal agreement with many other AZA accredited zoos in the U.S. Your card entitles you to discounted or free admission to those participating reciprocal zoos.


Q:

If I'm a member of another zoo, can I receive any benefits?

A:

Yes. Although the Zoo has free admission, if you're a member of a Reciprocal Zoo, you'll receive half off the Safari Pass for up to (4) passes.


Q:

If I have Anywhere Passes that I did not use, can I exchange them for different tickets?

A:

No. Once you redeem your tickets you can not exchange them.


Q:

Is my membership tax deductible?

A:

Yes! Your membership may be considered a charitable contribution, except:

Zoo-Goer, Young Zoo Friend, Family, Grandparent, Senior or Student
The entire gift may be considered a charitable contribution, except the retail value of the Zoo calendar ($5).

Conservation Advocate, Naturalist
Same consideration as a Zoo-Goer, except the value of Nature's Best Photography ($24) if you receive it.

Keeper
Same consideration as a Conservation Advocate, except the value of Rendezoo ($20/couple), if you attend.

Zoologist, Curator or Director
Same consideration as a Keeper, except the value of the appreciation dinner ($35/couple), if you attend.

Marlin Perkins Society
Same consideration as a Conservation Advocate, except the value of the annual society dinner ($100/couple), if you attend, and excluding $30 for the Marlin Perkins Society new member gift.
