Youth and parents attend these programs TOGETHER. The fees for these programs are per registered participant. All participating family members must be registered.

Keeper Safaris

Join our keeper staff on a tour to select areas of the Zoo to learn more about our animals. Hear how our collection has changed over the past 100 years as we honor our centennial birthday celebration.

Bird Keeper Safari

This Bird Keeper Safari provides a relaxing escape for bird lovers of all ages. Travel through the tranquil Bird House to view rare and exotic birds from around the world as you hear stories and anecdotes from bird keepers. Wear your safari shoes to go walking “Around the World in 90 Minutes.” Program participants meet in The Living World.

Snake Keeper Safari

The Zoo's collection of snakes ranges from A to Z. Join us on an exciting tour of the Charles H. Hoessle Herpetarium. We will see the many snake exhibits and learn how the keepers care for this diverse collection of reptiles. Program participants meet in The Living World.

River’s Edge Keeper Safari

Join the keepers on safari and visit some of the residents of River’s Edge. We will see anteaters, bush dogs, capybara, hyena, and the cheetahs. Learn what it takes to be a keeper and care for these charismatic creatures. Program participants meet in The Living World.
