Eco-Explorer’s Weekend: Southern Illinois

For families with children entering 3rd grade and up

Join us for a weekend in Southern Illinois’ Shawnee Hills as we venture down to the Touch of Nature Environmental Center. We will explore the woods and ponds looking for inhabitants, canoe and swim in Little Grassy Lake, hike among towering sandstone bluffs in Giant City, enjoy a campfire on the beach, and prowl for owls and bats. Accommodations include camp cabins (sleeping 6-8 people each) and shower house and canoes. Three meals are provided, including supper at Giant City Lodge. Meet at the Zoo and then carpool to Southern Illinois.
