How Early Bird Zoo Friends Online Registration Works
Register early! Zoo Friends can register online for any of our programs for individuals and families beginning at 1 p.m., March 8, 2010. Up to 75% of the spaces in summer program sessions are available for Early Bird Zoo Friends Online Registration. Once you have logged on, any program not shown as "sold out" will have at least one opening. Please note that availability for programs listed on our website is subject to change and some program sessions may be sold out. To be placed on a waiting list for a sold out program session, please call the education department at (314) 646-4544.
Please register either online or by mail. Processing fees will apply for canceling duplicate registrations. Participants may register for only one session of each program title, and the program participant must be the appropriate grade level to attend the program chosen.
Who's Eligible
As a current Zoo Friends Member, you are entitled to discounted prices for Education programs. You may register immediate family members living in your household. Any nieces, nephews, visiting cousins, friends, out of town guests, etc. are not eligible for online registration using your membership information.
Grandparents may register their grandchildren if their Zoo Friends Membership is at the Grandparent/Family level or above. NOTE: The signature of a parent or legal guardian is required for the Terms and Conditions (see Order Confirmation below).

Should I Register by Mail or Online?
When deciding whether to register by mail or online, we recommend mailing or dropping off your registration if you have Buddy Registrations for Camp KangaZoo. When registering online, you cannot see how many spaces are left in a program session. It is possible for you to take the last available space in a program session, and your child's buddy would not be able to register.
Advantages to online registration are the ability to see what sessions are available for a program, and immediate confirmation that spaces have been held in the program(s) you have chosen.
There is one more step to complete after you register online. In addition to your order confirmation, you will receive an email with an attachment regarding Terms and Conditions. An original signature for each participant must be mailed to the Education Department within 48 hours of receipt of this email. Participants 18 years and older must sign for themselves. For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign for their child. Failure to return this form will result in cancellation of this order without a refund. Fax, E-mail, or photocopied forms cannot be accepted.
What you Need to Register Online
Before you begin the online registration process, please review the complete list of Programs for Individuals & Families. When you are ready to register, click the appropriate program category at the top of this page. You will need to complete a separate order for each program category.
If you have never used the online registration process, the first thing you will do is create a logon account. You will need information from your Zoo Friends Membership card to create the account.
If you have used the online registration process before, you will be able to use the same email address and password to logon. If you forget your password, you can request that your password be emailed to the logon email address. The education department cannot give your password over the phone. If you have renewed your membership information since you last used online registration, please "Edit Your Account" during logon to update your membership information, address, email or contact information.
After you log in, you will enter information about one participant and then select the programs for this participant.
For Zoo Career-For-A-Day (Keeper-For-A-Day, Junior Sea Lion Trainer, and A Day with the Rays), Youth, and Camp KangaZoo programs, you will need to have the following information to register online:
- Two Emergency Contact Names and Phone Numbers
- Family Physician Name, Address and Phone Number
- Insurance Carrier and Policy Number(s)
When using online registration for Camp Joey, Camp KangaZoo, or Teen Camp, you will have the option to list your child's Camp Buddy during registration. Your child can request to be in the same camper group with one buddy of the same age or one year apart. When the buddy registers, they will also need to list your child as their buddy.
For Young Children Programs, PLEASE remember to register the free accompanying adult, otherwise your registration is incomplete.
Before You Complete Your Order
Once you get to the Payment page you will be able to do the following:
- Edit Program Selection
- Add Another Participant (Child)
- For Young Children programs, enter information for the free accompanying adult and select the program session they are attending
- Enter Payment, Agree to the Terms and Conditions, and Submit your order .
We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express using PayPal.
Order Confirmation
The spaces in the programs you have selected are not confirmed until you checkout and receive your electronic confirmation. Please print the confirmation page for your records and close the window. This confirmation will also be sent by email.
NOTE: If you are registering for programs in more than one category, you will receive a separate confirmation for each order.

You will receive a separate confirmation and Terms and Conditions email for each order you complete. The Terms and Conditions form(s) for each order must be signed and returned.
By choosing to use our online registration process, you are helping to conserve paper and other resources. Your email confirmation will be the only notice you receive for your program. You will not receive one in the mail.
Completed Orders
After you have completed an order and received your confirmation, you will not be able to reopen that order and make changes online. If you need to add family members to other programs, you can create another registration order online. You will be able to logon using your email address and password, but you will need to re-enter the personal information for the participant you are registering. The system will not present you with this information.
Cancellations and Transfers
To make a change to an existing registration order, please notify the education department as soon as possible at (314) 646-4544 or onlineregistration@stlzoo.org. A processing fee (see below) per person per program will apply to any cancellation or transfer request made at least two weeks before the program start date. We are sorry, but we cannot give any refunds with less than two weeks notice. When possible, we will allow a program participant to transfer to another session of the same program or to a different program if there are openings and the participant is the appropriate grade level or age. We cannot accommodate a transfer request less than two weeks before the program start date.
Camp Joey Processing Fees
At least 4 weeks notice; Processing Fee=$15
At least 2 weeks notice; Processing Fee=$40
Camp KangaZoo & Teen Camp Processing Fees
At least 4 weeks notice; Processing Fee=$25
At least 2 weeks notice; Processing Fee=$50
All Other Program Processing Fees
At least 2 weeks notice; Processing Fee=$8
Participants may not make up or receive a refund for missed programs. No exceptions can be made.
We reserve the right to cancel programs due to low enrollment or extenuating circumstances. Full refunds will be issued.
