ZOO CAREERS

Have you ever thought about working at the Zoo? What would that be like? Students will find out which skills and educational requirements are necessary for someone to work at the Zoo.

NEIGHBORHOOD NATURALIST

Program length: 45 minutes
Offered year-round

Zoos are great places to learn about animals from around the world. But what kind of wilderness can you explore in a nearby park or even your own back yard? Make a nature journal, meet animals that make their home in Missouri and Illinois, and practice using your observation skills to discover the wonderful biodiversity in your own community. Activities in this program will vary based on the grade level of the students.

TROPICAL RAINFORESTS

AFRICAN ANIMALS

FLYING FRIENDS

What kinds of animals fly? Is there a difference between flying and gliding? Learn about why and how animals fly and meet live animals. Practice skills to help you identify wild birds.

BUILT TO SURVIVE

All animals have unique behaviors and physical characteristics to help them survive in their particular homes. This student-driven class explores where animals live and how they have become adapted to surviving in those habitats.
