You don't have to be a kid to enjoy the Zoo -- you don't even have to come to the Zoo at all (although of course we love to have you here). If you can't visit us, then we can come to you!

The Saint Louis Zoo delivers adult outreach programs to libraries, senior centers, and various other community groups. Each program offers educational content, live animals interactions, and various objects from the animal world.

WONDERFUL WORLD OF ANIMALS

This program will highlight the wonderful world of animals. We will bring animals, biofacts and other materials to your site to provide a multi-sensory experience on this topic.

ZOO CONSERVATION

The Saint Louis Zoo is working to save endangered species both on our St. Louis campus and around the world. This program will introduce you to the work of our WildCare Institute. We will bring live animals from different continents to teach you about the diversity of wildlife on our planet.

NOTHING TO FEAR

Are you afraid of snakes? When you think of birds, do you think of horror movies? We’ll bring some creatures that might scare some people, and explain why these animals are really our friends.

AFRICAN ANIMALS

Do you know which animals live in Africa which don’t? Learn about African animals and their unique and varied habitats in this interactive class.

MISSOURI WILDLIFE

Discover Missouri’s diverse wildlife and wild places. Get to know some animals you might find in your own backyard. Become familiar with environmental issues affecting Missouri animals and habitats.

TROPICAL RAINFORESTS

Meet animals from the world’s tropical rainforests. Discuss threats to this diverse biome. Learn how to help protect rainforests and the animals that live there.

FLYING FRIENDS

What kinds of animals fly? Is there a difference between flying and gliding? Learn about why and how animals fly and meet live animals. Practice skills to help you identify wild birds.

ZOO NUTRITION 101

At the Zoo, our staff in the Animal Nutrition Center work hard to make sure the animals eat well. With over 11,000 animals to feed, that's no small job. This program will show you how we do it. See what's on our grocery list and then meet live animals and find out what they eat, too.

BREAKING THE RULES

In school, you learned the general characteristics of amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Now meet some animals that "break the rules" and have unique features different from most other animals in their group. Then play "Classification Bingo" to practice what you learned.

BUILT TO SURVIVE

All animals have unique physical characteristics and behaviors to help them survive in their particular homes. This class explores where animals live and how they have become adapted to surviving in those habitats.

BEHIND THE SCENES

There's a lot to see when you visit the Zoo, but did you ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes? We'll show pictures and tell stories about what you don't see even when you come to the Zoo. Get the inside scoop with this program. We'll even bring animals for you to see that aren't on public display.

THEN, NOW AND BEYOND

Take a trip down memory lane, looking at past pictures from the Saint Louis Zoo. Meet live animals and find out what we’re doing today to conserve wild things and wild places.
