Range: Borneo (in Indonesia)
Habitat: Lowland forests
Conservation Status: Not listed by IUCN
Scientific Name: Trimeresurus borneensis

This viper gets its name from the enlarged scales that project in a leaf shape over its snout and nostril. The snake is relatively common in the lowland forests of Borneo. It is equally at home on the ground or in the lower branches of shrubs and trees. Its body colors help the viper blend into the dead leaves on the forest floor.
