Python anchietae |
Little is known about the biology of this small python. It makes its home in the rocky, mountainous areas of northern Namibia and southern Angola, where it feeds on gerbils and ground birds. People in rural areas have reported finding this species in the vicinity of established water sources, particularly natural fountains. Like its close relative, the ball python of West Africa, this snake will roll into a defensive ball when it feels threatened.
