The amazingly adaptable cockroach is an all-too-familiar insect. It lives wherever humans live, virtually anywhere in the world. It also eats anything that we eat, or that our pets and livestock eat. And yet, of the 4,000 known cockroach species, only 50 are considered "pest" insects.
German roaches have adhesive pads on their legs that allow them climb slick surfaces, like glass.
